The nurturing, protecting and gathering of medicinal herbs and plants is an essential aspect of Tibetan Medicine. Sitting at an altitude of 12, 000 feet in the Himalayas in far western Nepal near Mustang; is Tashi Ge Gye Thaten Ling monastery, the first monastery with Tibetan refugees after fleeing the Communist Chinese occupation in 1959.
